Framed Hummingbird Prints
These prints are referenced from the work of Sir William Jardine, a Scottish naturalist.
Please note: Not all of these are kept in stock in our Bourne End store, please contact us for stock availability if you prefer to collect from our store.
Hummingbirds are fantastic looking birds from the neotropical areas of south and central America.
Prints of this age were printed in black ink and then a team of artists would hand colour each print to match the natural colours of the bird.
Sir William Jardine, 7th Baronet of Applegarth (23 February 1800 – 21 November 1874) was a Scottish naturalist. He is known for his editing of a long series of natural history books, The Naturalist's Library.

These prints reference beautiful hand-coloured prints from the 1800s. Prints of this style were originally printed in black and white and then hand-painted over the top to give them bright vibrant colours.
These images of antiquity are brought back to life by a very skilled UK based team who remaster, restore any damage and replicate their original colours.
They are then printed with archival grade methods to ensure the highest quality and prevent ageing, all of which are framed and ready to hang.
- These prints are digitally restored using a reference of illustrations from the 1800s.
